New Zealand IT solution provider Datacom has appointed Tim Hogan, the former chief technology officer of transport fleet tracking company EROAD, as the new director of Datapay.

Hogan starts at the end of October.

Prior to EROAD, Hogan held general manager roles at entertainment companies like Warner Bros, NBC Universal, TiVO and startups, and is educated at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, United States.

Aimed at the New Zealand and Australian markets, Datapay is a payroll and HR as a service solution which Datacom claims has over 23,000 businesses as customers, covering 350,000 employees, together with its small business Smartly division.

Hogan will lead Datapay, with newly appointed managing director of Datacom's SaaS Products Peter Nelson handling the Datascape enterprise resource planning unit.

Smartly meanwhile is led by chief executive Melissa Cheals.
