Australian payments platform Airwallex is setting up shop in New Zealand, having registered as a financial services provider in the country.
Initally, Airwallex will launch with international collections, multi-currency wallets in 11 currencies, and local payouts with over 30 currencies.
An Airwallex spokesperson told CRN NZ that the company already offers Xero bank feed integration for NZ clients.
The full suite of products that includes multi-currency company and employee cards, spend management and online payment acceptance will also be rolled out over time in New Zealand.
Airwallex's move into the New Zealand market is driven by Australian companies starting up business locally.
Sam Kothari, head of growth for Airwallex said many of the payments platform's customers had expanded to New Zealand.
Ensuring that these Australian businesses now have an efficient and cost-effective way to streamline their financial operations between the two countries can help them with their growth plans in the ANZ region,” Kothari said.
Airwallex was founded in Melbourne in 2015, and operates in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia as well as in Europe, United Kingdom and the United States.
The company says it has 1200 employees across its 19 major locations globally.
