Sealord picks Infor for seven-year SaaS contract

Sealord Group has gone with United States headquarted enterprise vendor to provide cloud-based solutions to help the fisheries giant improve forecasting and better measure sustainability such as sea temperature and plastics usage monitoring.

Infor will provide its Cloudsuite Food & Beverage and Supply Chain Planning software-as-a-service solutions to Sealord, for an initial seven-year period.

The company won the contract after a competitive tender, according to ANZ Infor vice president and managing director Jarrod Kinchington.

Chief information officer for Sealord, Matthew Dodd, said Cloudsuite F&B comes with industry specific features that are a close fit with the solution the fisheries company require.

"We needed to address growing business and security risks associated with our legacy systems.

"Infor will enable us to redesign our core financial systems around current and anticipated business requirements.

:With Infor, we will be able to more easily automate workflows, month-end processes, and provide standardised reports to increase productivity across the business," Dodd said.

Financial multi-currency consolidation is built in to Infor enterprise resource planning software, enabling all Sealord Group companies to report within the same system.

The Infor solution will replace Sealord's costly standalone consolidation software, the company said.

Jointly owned by Māori through Moana New Zealand and Japan's Nippon Suisan Kiasha, Sealord has over 1000 employes in New Zealand, and 240 overseas staffers.

The Nelson-based company exports 90 per cent of its catches frozen, to over 40 countries.
