Auckland-based MSP SecureCom has inked a 3-year IT support contract with MediaWorks. The deal provides the Kiwi media corporation with its TotalCARE Managed Service Desk (MSD) offering.

MediaWorks owns and operates some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest radio stations, including The Edge, Mai FM, The Rock and More FM.

It has more than 700 staff across 23 locations nationwide and went to market looking for an IT services company to support both its corporate and broadcast IT environments.

“The decision to partner with SecureCom was based on a number of factors. We liked the consistency of approach nationwide ensuring our people receive a high-quality experience wherever they are based. Our business is rapidly evolving, and we need partners who can keep pace with our own aspirations and keep investing and growing the partnership,” said MediaWorks technology and product director Ilyas Bardak.

He said SecureCom has the ability to make its own decisions and customise solutions to suit each client. "We were impressed with Securecom’s willingness to invest in its people so they can upskill to support our specific IT needs, given we have a combination of traditional corporate IT as well as broadcast infrastructure. We look forward to working with the SecureCom team and continuing our journey of transformation.”

The TotalCARE offering provides full coverage of the customer’s ICT environment with 24/7 monitoring and includes a customer portal for visibility and cost forecasting, according to SecureCom’s website.

“We are thrilled to be selected to partner with MediaWorks and be part of their journey of transformation and adding value to their nationwide team. We are a NZ owned and operated business and were up against some stiff international and local competition, so it is pleasing to see MediaWorks supporting a fellow kiwi business. We have grown rapidly over the past five years and partnering with companies like MediaWorks demonstrates the scale of our business and the breadth of technical skills we have in a market which is very resource-challenged,” said SecureCom sales and marketing director Greg Mikkelsen.

He claimed TotalCARE delivers an excellent service experience, with an accurate picture of costs and efficiency drivers, which will help MediaWorks to make informed business decisions.

"We pride ourselves on our award-winning Total Insights governance and reporting model that will assist MediaWorks in remediating IT issues and driving down their TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Both companies are aligned on what needs to be done and we can’t wait to get started.”
