Ventia scores outsourcing support services contract with DXC
Ventia installed community battery in North Fitzroy, Melbourne, for Yarra Energy Foundation.

Infrastructure services provider Ventia has picked American company DXC Technology to effectively serve as its IT operations function for New Zealand and Australia.

As part of the deal, DXC will provide its end-to-end solution to Ventia with applications, cloud, IT operations and workplace technologies.

Ventia has 35,000 employees and subcontractors on 400 sites on both sides of the Tasman.

It operates in many different industries, from defence to social infrastructure, water, electricity, gas, resources, environmental services, telecommunications and transport.

Ventia has been working with telecommunications wholesaler Chorus in New Zealand, for the rollout of the Ultrafast Broadband (UFB) fibre to the premises broadband project, which is funded by the government.

Last year, Ventia bought Kordia Solutions Australia, which provides telecommunications and broadcast services.

The infrastructure builder is aiming for a full digital transformation for its ANZ business.

Neither company disclosed the value of the five-year contract.
